GOD HELPS WHEN YOU’RE OVERWHELMED

O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

2 Chronicles 20:12

In one of the darkest moments of his life, with a vast enemy army advancing against his nation, King Jehoshaphat prayed the above prayer. He looked toward heaven instead of just at the seemingly invincible enemy.

Ever feel like that—alarmed and confused by looming troubles? Or perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed and defeated after a series of painful circumstances. If that describes you today, follow in Jehoshaphat’s footsteps. Turn your eyes to the One who truly is invincible. God knows how you feel: depleted and sorely in need of assistance. As Jehoshaphat said, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

Feeling at the end of your resources? Instead of focusing on fear, focus on the Father. Ask him to provide help in your time of need. 

GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:

• When trouble comes, keep your eyes on me.

• I will help you.

MY PRAYER TO GOD:

Lord, sometimes I feel so overwhelmed, all I can say is, “help!” When I don’t know what to do, help me trust you. Amen.
