Blessed with much more than enough

Exodus 36:3-7 - “And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning. 

[4] And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary came every man from his work which they made; 

[5] And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make. 

[6] And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. 

[7] For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.”

Many individuals find it difficult to attain satisfaction in their lives. Despite striving for better opportunities, wealth, possessions, and tremendous success, they still feel something is missing. Even when they achieve their desired level of success, they continue to yearn for more, making it challenging to find contentment. This is because greed takes over, and the desire for more becomes insatiable, making satisfaction increasingly elusive. 

As believers, we take comfort in our God being all-sufficient. He is the source of everything we need, and we can rely on Him to provide for us according to His plan. Sometimes, God rewards us with what we desire in His infinite mercy and grace, but we know His will is always for our ultimate good. This is why we refer to Him as "El Shaddai," the all-sufficient ONE who can meet our every need and fulfill the deepest desires of our hearts.

The generosity and dedication of the people of Israel during Moses' time serve as an excellent example of a constructive attitude. Despite not having abundant resources, they willingly gave all they had, including their possessions, time, and efforts, to help build the Tabernacle. We can all strive to emulate this act of faith and selflessness in our lives.

Those who left their comfort zone and lived in the wilderness learned the value of pleasing God over pleasing themselves. They obediently followed their leader, Moses, and gave everything he asked until they were asked to stop. Their obedience brought them great blessings.

This story shows us that even one person's initiative can inspire others to follow. We see how the willingness of one individual to step forward can act as a catalyst for others to give and work towards a common goal. In the case of Bezaleel, the son of Uri, God's power inspired him to come forward, and his actions were so noteworthy that Moses specifically mentioned his name in Exodus 35: 30-35. This highlights the importance of taking the initiative and its positive impact on those around us.

Guided by divine providence, Moses called upon the people to contribute their offerings and support a cause upon learning that a particular individual was willing to step forward and lead the way with faith and unwavering commitment. To Moses, the trust and devotion of this individual were of great significance, as they represented the very essence of divine guidance and inspiration.

Are we willing to take the first step and have faith in God to guide us toward leading and inspiring others? The outcome of such an act is beyond our imagination. The joy and abundance that follows are beyond measure. It is a life-changing experience that leaves us with much more than we could have ever imagined.

Our Prayer for today!

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You humbly, seeking Your guidance and assistance in developing my faith. Just like Moses, who challenged his people to give beyond their means, I ask that You help me to have unwavering faith in Your ability to cause others to give. I pray that You guide me in inspiring and encouraging others to give generously so that we may build a new sanctuary that glorifies Your name. I trust in Your divine plan and pray that You will continue to bless our Church with the resources needed to achieve our goals. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
