The Truth About the Sons of God and the Daughters of Man #2

The Great Flood was known as such not only because the whole earth was inundated and covered with water, but also because of the total devastation it brought to all humanity and all of God’s creation. God’s judgment was not only to express His wrath on the sins of the people who refused to repent. It was an act of grace to save a remnant who remained faithful and true to God’s will. It was also an act of love to perpetuate righteousness with the eight people whom God had chosen to remain. It was a just cause for humanity to be given 120 years to repent of their sins. But they rejected it. 

On the other hand, Noah showed his faith, when he obeyed what God commanded him to do the things that he did not understand. He obeyed without question what did not make any sense to him. Noah and his family of eight never knew anything about rain. During that time, the earth was in its best form because of God’s protection. Noah did not know anything about floods, strong winds, or the storm. He built the ark far from the sea. He could have rejected God's instructions and suffered the consequence with his family like everybody else; but because of the power of the living faith, they were all saved. 

Today, many continue to reject the story of the great flood. Some have assigned it to mythology and others ascribed it to the creative imagination of the writer. Despite the recent archeological findings- revealing many proofs that validate the story and the credibility of the Word of God as a whole; the majority continue to reject it. Again today, God is giving us warnings to prepare. Would you believe Him this time? 

What caused the great flood? Was it caused by Satan and his angels? I am of the opinion to refuse to give Satan and his angels the credit for causing the great deluge. I am sure he would love to admit it and brag about it, claiming victory. The great flood was the result of God’s judgment due to the wickedness of humanity and a just act to reward those who obeyed, which saved the 8 members of Noah’s family. 

The most obvious reason for God’s wrath to be released with such destructive force was the wicked collaboration of the “sons of God” and the “daughters of men.” There are two popular interpretations to explain this collaboration. The first is the “unequally yoke” relationship between the Sons of Seth, the godly line; and the daughters of men, the ungodly line. 

That is not how I see it, based on the context and other scriptural proofs. The “sons of God” in the Bible have been used to describe angelic beings. An example is in Job 2:1 - “Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord.” 

They were not human beings but fallen angels, who followed Lucifer and revolted against God. As a consequence of their rebellion, they were all cast out from heaven. They were described in Jude 1 as the angels who did not keep their original estate. 

Jude 1:6 - “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” 

These were angels who willfully left their habitation; not only to be with humanity. Their main desire was to ruin the most important and the highest of all God’s creations, the human beings. What could be more effective and devastating in ruining the highest of God’s creative work; and who was created in His image, but to change and infect man’s DNA with the DNA of the fallen angels? Because of this, all those born from this union were born totally depraved. But praise God, His unconditional love also offers them the grace of salvation. These people are not the elected or chosen ones. They are people under the permissive will of God who were allowed to live based on the grace of God. 

Many still doubt the idea of cohabitation between the fallen angels and the daughters of men. They based this on the fact that angels are spiritual and sexless beings. However, there is a passage that describes angels having the ability to transform in the likeness of man; we have been warned to be careful in dealing with some strangers for they might be angelic beings. I supposed that as spiritual beings, it is totally true that they are sexless and not given to marriage; but while they are in the form of a human, they have all the attributes and all the physical and sexual functions of man. 

Another telling proof was the result of this union. The Bible declares that their sexual union and cohabitation resulted in giving birth to giants. They were not only giants in their physical structure, but they were also giants in their intellectual and physical abilities. 

There are many references in the Bible describing the existence of literal giants. One could recall the report of the 10 spies who came back from the land of Canaan, and how they described the people there as giants. (Numbers 13:33) There was also Goliath, the Philistine who was killed by David and Og, the king of Bashan (Deuteronomy 3:11) The Hebrew Bible calls these giants Nephelims. (Genesis 6:4) 

Archeologists have found real and numerous skeletons of giants from the past. The presence of so many giant structures such as the Pyramids, temples, and large god-like statues. the ancient buildings in the Mayan Peninsula would make one wonder how they were able to construct such large structures with huge rocks that were precisely cut and weighed as much as 500 tons. 

Our current generation thinks that the people in the past were intellectually behind and very primitive in architecture and science. That is shown by their idea of cavemen. However, recent discoveries prove otherwise. How could the people in Peru produce large-size images of animals and humans on mountains without the technology to see the forms from above? 

These hybrid beings and the fallen angels introduced, I believe, the worship of so many gods in their desperate attempt to replace the true and living God of the Bible. Have you ever wondered where they got the idea of the likes of the Egyptian god, RA; the half falcon and half man? How about the Hindu gods? Every culture in different civilizations has its representative deity to worship. These fallen angels knew the true God but they did it to deceive and to destroy the eternal plan of God for humanity. 

Conclusion: 

Everything that appears and whatever happens in this generation must not be surprising to God’s people. If we believe that “all things will work together for good,” we only need to trust in the Lord. All these are the works of the enemies to sow fear and doubt in our hearts to stop us from completing God’s work. 

It is a form of distraction to make us join the lost, the confused, the doubters, and the fearful. It is a strategy to take away our boldness and silence us in declaring the hope that is in us before the Lord’s return. This is not the time to be weak and to be afraid. This is the final battle to face and God does not want us to retreat.
