WISDOM BRINGS GREAT REWARD

Proverbs 4:5-7

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

When we pray for wisdom, we may echo these words of King Solomon in today’s promise. Living wisely is important, for wisdom is a protection. Wise people are saved from lots of stupid mistakes and consequences. They have an honorable reputation.

This doesn’t mean that wise people never make mistakes or are not attacked. In fact, sometimes the wisest people are the focus of the harshest criticism. Even then, however, they will sustain the blows because their reputation goes before them.

Pray that you will hold on to wisdom and gain a good reputation because of it. Then when attacks come, you will be able to stand firm. Wisdom will exalt and honor you. 

GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:

• You can learn to be wise and develop good judgment.

• Wisdom will exalt and honor you.

MY PRAYER TO GOD:

Lord, work in my life to develop wisdom. May I never turn my back on wisdom but always love and embrace it. You have said that when I prize wisdom, it exalts me; when I embrace wisdom, it honors me. Amen.
