GOD REWARDS THOSE WHO SEEK HIM
But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
People may try all kinds of things in an attempt to please God. Many think that going to church will do it. Some try being generous and kind, living a good life, or keeping all kinds of rules. But the Bible makes it clear that it is impossible to please God without faith. In other words, all of our “doing” amounts to nothing. We can attend church, give our money, serve others and flawlessly keep all kinds of rules we set for ourselves, but if we do not have faith in God, we cannot please him.
When we have true Biblical faith, we believe in God and his goodness. We come to him, believing that he exists and, even more, believing that he rewards those who search for him. Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). God rewards us with himself and his presence forever. It’s a simple process—with eternal rewards.
GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:
• It is impossible to please me without faith.
• I will reward those who sincerely seek me.
MY PRAYER TO GOD:
Lord, you say that anyone who wants to come to you must believe that you exist. Draw me to you and help me to sincerely believe in your existence as an almighty yet loving God. Amen.
