YOU CAN TRUST GOD’S STRENGTH IN YOUR WEARINESS
Isaiah 40:28,30-31
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Ever seen an eagle in flight? They’re able to reach great heights because of their ability to soar on the updrafts. Because they’ve learned to use the wind, they don’t have to work as hard, pumping their wings in order to get anywhere. As they coast on the wind, they renew their strength.
Isaiah said those who wait on the Lord will be like the eagle—discovering renewed strength. At times we feel spiritually battered and emotionally drained; we are tired and weary. But it is during those times when we face physical, spiritual or emotional exhaustion that God offers us his strength.
If you’re feeling tired and weary, take Isaiah’s advice: “Hope in the Lord,”for he promises strength.
GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:
• When you are weak or worn out, I will give you strength.
• When you hope in me, you will find new strength.
MY PRAYER TO GOD
Lord, I feel weary. You promise that those who hope in you will find new strength. Help me trust that you will give me the strength to run and not grow weary, to walk and not faint. Amen.
