NOTHING CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM GOD’S LOVE

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Believers are secure in Christ. Paul presents a remarkable argument in these verses. He asks, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (8:31). If God gave up his only Son for us, won’t he also give us everything else? Is God going to accuse us? No, because our right standing comes from God. Is Christ going to condemn us? No, because Christ died for us and is now at God’s right hand interceding for us. Can anything separate us from God’s love? No. Will we face lots of difficulties? Yes, but no matter what we face, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (8:37).

Paul was convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Whether our bodies are alive or dead, we are with God. The unseen spiritual forces cannot separate us from him. No matter where we go, God’s love is there.

Once we belong to God, we cannot ever be separated from him. Christ’s death proved that. No matter where we go, how we feel or what battles we face, we are never separated from God’s love. His presence and his love hold us securely—forever. 

GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:

• Nothing can ever separate you from my love.

• In my love you are secure.

MY PRAYER TO GOD:

Heavenly Father, you promise that nothing can ever separate me from your love. Thank you for that promise and the assurance of my security in you. Amen.
