GOD GRANTS YOU PERSEVERING POWER
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
A bumper sticker seen on a worn-out car, sputtering and smoking up a long mountain road: “I’m peddling as fast as I can!”
Ever feel like that? You’re giving it all you’ve got, but still moving at what seems like a glacial pace. Those are the stressful times when we want to pull over and quit. Those are the times we need today’s promise.
The apostle Paul learned the lesson that we need to know: Even in the most trying times, Christ is enough. He gives us the help and strength we need to persevere. That means life doesn’t have to seem like an uphill battle. We have the strength—God’s—to make it through even the most trying of circumstances.
GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:
• I will give you the strength you need.
• You will be able to do whatever is necessary.
MY PRAYER TO GOD:
I need help, Lord. I feel so weary and tired. Without your power, I don’t feel like I can continue. With your help and strength I know I can do whatever you ask of me. Give me a second wind. I look to you in trust because I know you are faithful. Amen.
