GOD SUSTAINS YOU
Psalm 68:19
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.
“Count your blessings” urges the old hymn. “Name them one by one.”
It’s good counsel. Try it. Pull back from your busy life for a few minutes and ponder all that God has done for you and in you. You may be surprised and encouraged by what you discover.
Psalm 68 is a record of one occasion when King David counted Israel’s blessings. In the hymn, David cites God’s power and his fatherly compassion. Then, in verse 19, David erupts in praise.
The reason for such celebration? God’s promise that he “daily bears our burdens.”
God is the one who enables us to keep going. Today (and every day) you can be confident of his concern and powerful care.
GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:
• I am the Lord.
• I am your Savior.
• I daily bear your burdens.
MY PRAYER TO GOD:
O Lord, I praise you! You are the one who delivers. You are in control of my life and all things. Thank you for going before me and going with me. Thank you for saving me in numerous tough situations. I choose to believe that you will sustain me today, through whatever comes. Amen.
