GOD DELIVERS YOU FROM CONDEMNATION
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
One of the most destructive types of busyness is practiced by professing Christians. Though they proclaim a gospel that promises a new standing with God as his beloved children, these individuals privately practice a different belief.
They busy themselves with thoughts of unworthiness and guilt. They live under a self-imposed cloud of condemnation. And they do this despite the promise that followers of Jesus are free—forever—from the threat of divine retribution.
The New Testament is clear: Christ took the awful punishment we deserved because of our sin. This action cannot be undone. So if we are going to busy ourselves, it should be with continual praise to God for his amazing grace.
GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:
• As my child, you do not have to fear punishment.
MY PRAYER TO GOD:
Lord, forgive me for the times I wrongly think you want to punish me for my failures. Jesus took my punishment and gave me his righteousness. Because of that you see me as perfect and precious. Help me to better understand your grace and mercy so that I might be more gracious and merciful. Amen.
